The Color of the Flame
Black: Dark, silent, numb, stale, bland, still, absence of all, presence of nothing; potentiality.
Yellow: The first wavering, brightly shining spark flickers softly, fearing the quickly snuffing obliteration of the freezing night.
Red: A moment of pause, uncertainty in darkness...then a tiny light, glowing, growing, emerging from the darkness, producing the fire from the spark.
Orange: The fire becomes steady flame, burning softly, shining still, shedding its light upon all.
White: The fire catches suddenly, bursting outward, burning wood, searling flesh, destroying all.
Black: Only ashes remain.
