Control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Wireless Zero Configuration
	startup type :  	automatic
	service status: 	start

Reboot.  You may be able to get by with just restarting windows, but
sometimes the configuration changes don't stick.

Start -> Run
	type:	services.msc
	right-click to get properties
	select Automatic and start

	Connecting two Windows machines with a crossover ethernet cable

Need to have 2x NIC's [ethernet cards] add the devices on both machines,
enable Netbios as a protocol to the NIC, stick the crossover cable (not
normal patch cables) in at both ends, and map the drives using right
click on Net Neighbourhood the path will be as follows

\\[machinename]\[sharename]

i.e. to map to a machine called machine1 with a shared resource of c$
type in the following after doing the above, choosing a drive letter
etc;

\\machine1\c$

it should then connect the chosen drive letter to that folder on that
machine.

ensure that you are logged on to both machines with the same username
and password.

patch ethernet == straight ethernet
crossover == connect 2 comps sans hub
